Daily Scripture

Luke 24:27, 32

27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

What does it take to believe? What does it take to know?

When the Resurrected Savior appeared to the two men on the road to Emmaus, He didn’t outright reveal Himself to them. Instead, He expounded (taught) them the scriptures of the Old Testament that testified of Him.

These men were believers. Their conversation on the road had been wondering about the man whom they had trusted. They had been discussing the events of the previous days and trying to work it all out. They believed.

But their sure knowledge didn’t come through seeing Him. It came through a sure witness of the Holy Ghost as they studied and pondered the scriptures about Him.

That same sure knowledge is available to each of us. We don’t have to see Him to know Him. We can know Him and have a sure knowledge of His gospel through faithful study of His holy and inspired words. They testify of Him. And we are promised that if we study and ask with real intent, we will KNOW the truth.
