14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
If we allow the Holy Ghost—who testifies of God and Jesus Christ and bridges the gap between us and Them—to lead us, we are sons and daughters of God. And being His children, we are not like slaves or hired hands. We are adopted into His family (in this case, adopted through of the covenants we make since we are already His spirit children). And being adopted into His family through our covenants, we have the right to call on Him familiarly (that’s the reference to Abba) as our Father.
I love that. We don’t have to be fearful. We have a loving Father who is always here for us.
So let’s joyfully keep our covenants, follow the guidance of the Holy Ghost, and call on God familiarly for His help.
