And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind…
The blessing is that God gives us what we seek. The scary thing is that God gives us what we seek.
Studying Paul’s words again this morning. He is pretty blunt about the wickedness of his day and ours.
We live in a world where God, Christianity, and moral values are questioned, mocked, and discarded on every side. The laws that God has established are being treated not only as unnecessary but actually wicked. It’s crazy.
This verse reminds me that if we seek the things of God, He will manifest them to us plainly. We will feel His spirit and be filled.
But if we actively seek to embrace the world’s view of His laws, He will allow those things to become our “law.” He will give us over, as the verse says, to our worldly way of thinking.
We won’t be able to combat what others believe. It’s a personal journey of agency. But we should always be on guard for what we believe. God gives us what we seek.
