Psalm 36:5, 9

5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

A little this morning about the Savior’s declaration, “Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I am the life and the light of the world” (Doctrine & Covenants 11:28).

He is the light of the world. He shows us the direction in darkness. But this morning, I’m thinking about how He is the life of the world.

Of course, He is physical life. Because of His Resurrection, we will live physically. But He is life to us daily.

In a lesson I taught recently about Jesus being the true vine, I used an object lesson with a live plant and a grapevine wreath. The grapevine wreath was obviously dead. It had been cut from a living plant.

But the miracle of the Savior, unlike my dead grapevine wreath, is that any branch (us) who has been cut off or feels severed from the vine (Jesus), can be grafted back in at any time and receive new life.

He is life. If we come and want to be grafted in, the power of repentance and His Atonement give new, sustaining life.

Think about the life He continually breathes into each of us. He is our life. He sustains us.
