Moroni 10:31

And awake, and arise from the dust, O Jerusalem; yea, and put on thy beautiful garments, O daughter of Zion; and strengthen thy stakes and enlarge thy borders forever, that thou mayest no more be confounded, that the covenants of the Eternal Father which he hath made unto thee, O house of Israel, may be fulfilled.

I finished the Book of Mormon again this morning. There is so much doctrinal meat in the these final chapters. Moroni knows his time is short and he’s emphasizing his most important lessons to us. It was hard to choose one to share. But I decided on this one for today.

I had a pretty vivid dream two nights ago. In it, I shared my testimony with two different people not of my faith. It was very real.

I woke up determined to do a better job reaching out to others and sharing what I know of the goodness of Christ. In other words, I committed to be a better missionary.

Sometimes it’s hard.

But this verse reminds us that strengthening our stakes and enlarging our borders will help US not be confounded, and help US realize the blessings of the covenant.

So our efforts to open our mouths and testify of Christ (which in theory shouldn’t be hard because it’s not about us at all but about Him) actually help us realize the blessings of the covenant. (That discussion is too big for this note, but something to think about.)

Which leads me to a challenge (which I give to myself as well). We have church this Sunday, focusing on Jesus Christ. It’s a perfect opportunity to invite someone to come. It could be a member who hasn’t been in a while (strengthening thy stakes) or not a member (enlarge thy borders) who doesn’t attend any church but might like to for a change.

We all know someone who fits one of those categories. I asked a couple neighbors last night. I left the invitation open. They may come. They may not. That really isn’t the point.

The point is that if I want to realize the blessings of Christ’s Atonement and His covenant with me, I have to share that light with others.

Who will you invite? There’s still time.
