John 14:22–23

22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Reading some of the Savior’s final interactions this morning.

It’s interesting that all have the same “facts” in front of them about Jesus and Christianity. Yet so many don’t believe. The Lord explained that to understand and believe, more is required.

First we have to do. We have to follow the teachings. It’s not enough to know the facts. We have to keep the commandments. Second, and equally important, the Father and Son, through the Holy Ghost, have to manifest the truth spiritually. They come and dwell with us and help us understand on a level beyond just seeing.

That’s why what seems plain to those who follow, do, and believe is not plain to the world. There is a spiritual element involved that we have to receive. A manifestation from heaven that this work is true.

The truth is available to all, but it has to be sought and worked for.
