John 12:35-36

35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.

Here’s the setting. Shortly after the triumphal entry, many of the Jewish rulers sought Jesus’s life. Some of His disciples, upon hearing this news, were troubled.

But the Savior comforted them and told them He was prepared for this eventuality–it was, in fact, why He was here.

Then He comforted them and said, “You have me (light) with you a little longer. Walk with me.”

He says the same thing to us. He may not be here physically, but He is with us just the same. He leads this Church. He has called prophets and apostles to be light. They act under His direction and He is at the helm. He has given us the Comforter to discern and embrace light.

There is no difference in the promise. We can walk in the light, be children of light, find our way in the light, and not be confounded by darkness. He is Light. When we anchor to Him and His established organization, we walk in the light He provides.
