Hebrews 11:6

… he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

How does faith work? First, we have to believe that God is—that He exists and that this whole gospel and everything we claim to be real is real.

In today’s climate where “informed” people claim otherwise, wise and faithful people believe that God is.

But faith requires more than that starting point of belief. The second part is that we believe He will reward US if we diligently seek Him. We have to believe His promises in order to claim them.

Each of us has been given countless promises that pertain to us specifically. If you’re not sure what yours are, get or study your patriarchal blessing or get a priesthood blessing to be reminded.

But the real challenge is believing that those things can be realized. Sometimes, especially during trials and challenges, doubt can rob faith. Doubt can wonder if they really are possible, especially when they’re not immediate or in our timing.

God is the giver of good gifts. But our faith is required to claim them. We have to believe He will do what He says He’ll do and then act as if they’re coming.

An easy principle on paper. A more challenging principle to live. Here’s to a faith-filled day. ???
