1 Behold, I say unto you, David, that you have feared man and have not relied on me for strength as you ought.
2 But your mind has been on the things of the earth more than on the things of me, your Maker, and the ministry whereunto you have been called; and you have not given heed unto my Spirit, and to those who were set over you, but have been persuaded by those whom I have not commanded.
3 Wherefore, you are left to inquire for yourself at my hand, and ponder upon the things which you have received.
Can you imagine getting that kind of reprimand from the Lord? It’s a great reminder to me of where and in whom I put my trust.
I want to rely on His strength in ALL things. I want to not worry about things of the earth more than things of Christ. I want to listen to the people who have been set over me (prophets and apostles chosen directly by the Savior) and not others who have not been appointed by Him as spokespeople.
I definitely don’t want to be left to ponder for myself upon the things I have received.
I want to choose, trust, love Him at all times and in all things and in all places.
