30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
31 (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.
The Book of Deuteronomy is Moses’s final testimony and teachings to the children of Israel. I love these verses because not only is he talking to those living then, but he’s talking directly to us.
Did you see that line “even in the latter days”? He was promising God’s people, which includes us, that if we will remember the goodness of the Lord and turn away from iniquity, He will remember us in our trials and carry us through.
It’s a promise that transcends time. It applies as long as the earth shall stand. God remembers His covenants. It’s up to us to remember ours. Then we can claim His blessings.
