The equation isn’t ever: we are defeated because the enemy is more powerful.
The equation is: we are defeated because we fall into transgression and deny our faith.
Regardless of the battle, IF we are faithful unto Christ and live our religion (I’m interested that the key to the success is not just belief in the truth but living the gospel according to God’s specifications), THEN we will be protected and preserved.
Too often we give other things the power mentally to destroy us. But it’s not men or circumstances we need to fear. We need to fear (respect) God. He is our preserver.
Moroni and the Nephites were fewer in number than the attacking Lamanites. But 1. They were better prepared with armor and 2. (more importantly) their trust was in God.
The adversary only has power over us as we allow through our questionable choices, our loyalty, and (lack of) faith. If we are faithful, we win.
